Vintage jewellery has become a huge trend over the past year. Whether it be an antique or something you got two weeks ago, it looks good on anyone. If you're looking for something genuinely vintage my advice is to pop to a charity shop. However, in most high street shops it is possible to get something modern which has been inspired by the vintage era - for less than ten pounds!
Of course rules are made to be broken, especially with fashion, but I still have some words of advice for those magpies who want something new for their collection:
- When it comes to gold or silver, pick something that would compliment the tones in your hair. Warmer tones such as dark brown, strawberry blonde and medium blonde hair will suit gold. Cooler tones such as jet black and white blonde hair will love silver.
- While your elderly relatives will show off their vintage accessories on their equally vintage dress, it is better for young women to wear there's as a twist on a more modern outfit.
- Argos is a great place to buy genuine gold and silver on a budget.
- If you like busy neck wear, wear a plain top. This will draw all the attention to the necklace and keep you from looking too OTT.
